Paul Lobanov-Rostovsky has been in shipping since 1978, starting as a broker in the dry cargo market, graduating to an owners’ broker working both tanker and dry cargo markets. Thereafter, he assumed management roles involving daily activity and transactional implementation.

He has held the following positions:-

  • General Manager - InterCaribbean Maritime Ltd, Nevis
  • Senior Chartering Manager - Noble Shipping, London (freight management of Noble Group Commodity Trading Divisions).
  • Commercial Director - Maritime Management Company S.A.M. Monaco
  • Managing Director - Azov Shipping Ltd, London
  • Director - Trade & Transport UK Ltd, London

He brings a wealth of experience in freight transaction and freight management as a result of the above experience.

He brings an advantageous perspective of trading mentality and synergies with shipping.

Jona Desselberger completed the Dainton Master Course (Mechanical Engineering) at Imperial College, London and then trained at Harley Mullion & Co. Ltd. Thereafter he worked for Axis Shipbroking Limited in London and then headed the S&P department of MJLF in Stamford, Connecticut, USA. In January 2004 he and Charles Jung, on behalf of clients, founded GMT Maritime Limited in London. The prominent shipbrokerage house is active in all aspects of sale and purchase of new & used commercial vessels including short & long-term charters and financing.

He has held the following positions:-

  • Chairman – GMT Maritime Limited, London
  • Head of Sale & Purchase Department – MJLF & Associates, Inc., Stamford, Connecticut
  • Director of S&P – American Association of Shipbrokers and Shipagents

He has valuable experience in the ship sale and purchase / projects markets.
